Six years ago, jewelry designer/Accessories specialist, LaShan, set out on a personal journey to uncover accessories and adornments that were not only genuine works of art, but that also had some greater connection to the human spirit and her strong sense of individuality. It was harder than she anticipated.

LaShan researched the properties and origins of semi-precious stones. Her travels took her to the renowned spiritual and artistic communities of Taos and Santa Fe, New Mexico. “I just knew that I was going to find something magical, but the only pieces that I fell in love with were hanging around the necks of Native American Indians and were not for sale. I was even forbidden to handle some of them because of their sacred beliefs.”

Immediately after returning to her home in Venice, California, art history major and fashion model-turned actress, LaShan began designing and creating jewelry. She quickly built a reputation for one-of-a-kind statement pieces and accessories infused with turquoise, semi-precious stones, and custom silver pieces from India, China, Tibet, Africa and Arizona.

You can recognize her signature pieces adorning such celebrities as Cher, Halle Berry, Sigourney Weaver (Avatar), Jasmine Guy, Carrie Moss (The Matrix), Pat Benetar, Teena Marie, Nia Long, India Arie, Danielle Steele, Eric Benet, Emmy Award actress Jennifer Flannigan (ABC’s”Committed”), Cathy Lee Crosby, Alyssa Milano, Diane Ritchie, Venus Williams, Rolanda Watts, Kalita Smith & Camille Winbush (The Bernie Mac Show) and Hattie Winston Wheeler (Becker).
